Autumn Tour
Bon Iver, 2019
Bon Iver is an American indie folk band from Raleigh, North Carolina. In the Summer of 2019 they released their new album IcommaI (I,I) a mature masterpiece and a stunning marriage of ambition, experimentation and technique. Since then, they have been touring through America and different countries playing songs from the new album and the past ones. In collaboration with Sofia Maquivar, we created a title opener for the tour. Our concept was based on the originality of the album with a compilation of visual elements that reference the creation of this album in a collage format.

Details
Having attended their concert, one of the things we liked the most about this one was the visual experience they were seeking to create along with their music. From the beginning we wanted to focus on this aspect. An article reviewing the album mentioned how the album and the sound itself resembled a cubic collage. This inspired us to literally represent it with this technique. We experimented with different tactile assets and stop motion to create texture, memories and emotions; seeking to visualize what the album and the tour itself suggests.

Process
It was the first time we developed a collage by using stop motion, therefore we let our creativity drive us. We did not follow a specific plan on how the compositions would look like beforehand, so we just experimented what images went better together as we moved forward. The first step for us was to gather all the content we were going to use. Sofia and I spent a few hours recollecting images from magazines, newspapers and the internet. We took the delicacy to grab assets and photographs that the band had previously used in their albums to complement it better with the brand. From here it was all about having fun.
You can see a few images below that document the process in my living room.
The making of
social media deliverables
A portion of this assignment was to modify the original horizontal design into multiple formats for social platforms. Below are additional design elements we created.

Initial Styleframes
I developed a first look of how I wanted the whole project to feel like and this was the result.
